Now that I know it

 only if I knew
 an outstretched palm
 awaiting raindrops
 would get scorched in the sun
 I would’ve conquered thirst
  
 only if I knew
 parasols
 I held close
 would be blown by the wind
 I would’ve built shelters
  
 Only if I knew
 relationships
 will fall short
 of expectations
 I would’ve invested in myself
  
 Now that I know
 loneliness
 is the only truth
 I will rename it
 Coveted Solitude
