does a tear drop know
what it holds
what it means
to the one who sheds it
to the one who sees it?
pent-up emotions
contained no more?
a sham,
a manipulation,
a cry for help?
does an expression know
its social acceptability
its repercussions
energy it transmits
to the ecosystem?
Does madness know
if it is an obsession
a disorder
a chemical imbalance
or genius supreme?
a state of being
a reflection of inner worlds
inconvenient to some
judged, labelled and packed
into asylums
Tear drop

I really like this, Reena…your format, questions raised, and insightful conclusion. Can’t choose a favorite phrase or verse, all are essential!

Your sensitivity to madness and the response of many to it are appreciated, Reena. Humans often are herd animals and will distance themselves from any difference.

I can see way to many important questions we cannot answer being solved by hiding them away inside asylums.

It is a different state of being. Investigating their problems might create discomfort for the majority out there. Thank you, Bjorn!
