They congregated up in the hills, far away from judging eyes.
They looked rather unkempt in distressed denims, straggly hair and unwashed/unshaven faces but carried the latest devices. They spread out to different spots and remained busy on their equipment.
Seven hours later, the skies turned a dark grey with rumblings of thunder, and the villages below received the first raindrops after weeks of drought.
Up there, the guys congratulated each other on a mission executed successfully. They would now apply for venture capital funding.
To judge a book by its cover is often erroneous.

Haha! Weirdly enough, this reminds me a lot of the cannabinoid industry here in the states. Even though they do real science and perform very difficult tests, they look like a bunch of weird guys with neck tattoos. I almost got hired as a consultant once *just* so the company could put someone with the requisite skills forward and them not have piercings and tattoos.

We have a similar version here – people being hired to show experienced and educated profiles on board – but not being given decision making powers later. They quit in frustration.
