Not so unusual

I feel rather overdressed, standing under the decorative lights in my wedding finery.

The wedding vows have been taken, and the bride is standing with a bag in hand, dressed in a track-suit, ready to leave for her parents’ place. I hear some whispers of enquiry – “Is there something wrong, something that should not have happened?”

Not really. The bride and groom are presumably living together in USA.  They have flown down to India for two weeks for a social wedding, in line with their parents’ wishes. However, both would like to spend the fortnight with their own families, before flying back to work and home and hearth in another country.

So, all is normal. The groom kisses her goodbye, and the holiday proceeds ahead as planned.

I’m in the hotel room, looking for some casual clothes to wear.
