Sonya looked at the mansion across the street, and sighed. Destiny had brought them so near and yet so far. She desperately wanted to dial his number, but her ego came in the way. He had not bothered to check about her for the last few years. Both had been doing exceedingly well in their careers, and led apparently fulfilled lives.
She remembered the small house they had built on the riverside, now abandoned. Their dreams had grown too big to fit into small ambitions. They were inching closer in the halls of fame, but could not bridge the gap.
