Zapped by blueness of the sky, and the sound of flapping wings, the little birdie puffs her chest and gets ready to fly. Her mother watches with concern, but makes no effort to help her. The first flight is not easy, but I see the tiny one up there on the window sill. She has made it that far, and is now gazing at the electric wires running overhead.
I click a quick picture, and tweet about the development. The little one doesn’t know that she is the symbol chosen for a social media platform. I am now determined to let my baby do her own thing. Human parents fuss too much over their children, and effectively clip their wings.
Achoo … my baby sneezes, and the bird flies away. The spell is broken. The moment passes away, as I start fussing over baby catching a cold. We need to see a paediatrician immediately.
Mother bird is now flying in circles overhead, followed by her offspring. They will soon rule the sky.

Beautiful. A few years ago a bulbul couple had built a nest in our verandah and we had observed with fascination their activities. Yes, we do fuss a lot about our children 🙂
