This is my favorite stretch of the road to drive on. The coolness of leaves arching over is invigorating. I take a few seconds every day to explore nooks and corners – the familiarity makes me feel at home.
The pattern shifts a little, as I’m overwhelmed by the dark woodiness of branches in intimidating shapes. The expressions are menacing as I get closer. What had I been thinking all along? The place is revealing its true colors.
Whoever said ‘Familiarity breeds contempt’ couldn’t be more right…..
it was a moment
when you and I became one
and met a stranger
