The shoes have been there for years, but she has never stepped into those.
Not because it is a despised pair, but because it is just not her. She has been declared an outcast after imposing a persona on her, which is not her. She surprises herself and the world with her nonchalance.
There is no desire to belong. There is no effort to show what she is. She makes her own shoes and walks in those, but the world refuses to see those.
To each his or her own … she couldn’t care less. Invisibility is a conscious choice.

Glad it worked out for her. Great take.

As you show, not knowing an invisible person denies the truth.

This felt almost like a class thing, about the lower classes being less visible, less noticed and praised, less in need of the glorification or notoriety so many seek. This individual seemed not to care, despite her lot, which makes me like her very much.

It is about assumptions, attributions and impositions, when we hate someone. The evil image we create, is a rationalization of our negativity towards the person. The real person may be quite different. Nobody is fully black or white.

It comes with age anyway. But in the meantime I sense she is her own person and doing what she wants to do, not influenced by those she doesn’t respect.
