tsunami of life
overturns imagined order
in the picture perfect
chaos of existence
jetties lead nowhere
piers struggle for support
as unpredictable tides
cannot hold the ship
moored to land
I see a shapeless mass
of harboured hopes
crashing into the sea
losing identity
(44 words)

I too love that harboured hopes, a very positive spin in the tsunami of life.

Oh so well done….to describe the pier, the harbor with the tides and the ship – I’m thinking you’re going to get to a safe harbor here….and then to use the word “harbor” as
“a shapeless mass
of harboured hopes
crashing into the sea
losing identity”
It shifts the reader a bit.
Really liked your response to the prompt! So glad you participated.

Oh, the harboured hopes losing their identity is a debilitating thought. Through a tsunami led existence, perhaps that is the eventuality we have to encounter after all. I liked “the picture perfect chaos of existence”.

oh Reena, harboured hopes was such a beautiful phrase – aren’t they just that, waiting for the right vessel to come
