Our instructions for this Sunday’s writing prompt:

“In George Orwell’s 1984 there is a statement along the lines of:

“Not only did Winston believe two plus two equalled five, he loved it.”

The nature of the novel is to have us reflect on what it is we are told and how any government might be able to control the truth. The notion of, if you are told something often enough it might then be true.

We live in a world of ‘fake’ news, lies and ‘alternate’ facts.

This week write about the improbable, how we can be manipulated by the information we are subjected to.

You could reflect on the current world situation.

You could construct a totally fictitious tale.

Let the prompt lead you and have fun.”
