Ebbing tides

reveal what lies beneath

disguised, ignored

and helps it face the world

with its original force.

 

Withdrawal

does not shock anymore

as I come to terms

with the real face

life has to show.

 

I will tread with care

tomorrow

when the tides are high again

fully aware

of what lies beneath.
