Strategic moves

I was shocked. The cabbie wore a cap with horns on it, and the name tag said ‘SATAN’ – loud and clear. Surprisingly, he was the politest driver I had ever come across.

We visited the dens of criminals, politicians and power-brokers of all kinds. There were smug smiles of satisfaction on all the faces I met. A hint of derision did not go amiss either ‘You dared to fight us?’. I kept seeing the miserable masses, the innocent sufferers and the picture of Hell behind them. And then the cabbie spoke,

Look for the weak points. The fortresses are not as impenetrable, as they appear to be.

I was grateful for the immense wisdom in those words. It is easy to worship and emulate goodness. But destruction needs a strategy, powerful allies and appropriate weapons.

Satan spoke again, as if reading my thoughts,

One needs the capability to do a volte-face when needed. Steadfastness is a virtue of the weak and stupid.

He was so right. Only poison can kill poison. I await the volte-face. His or mine?
