I am fascinated by the human mind. I am in awe of its capacity to inflict seasons of joy and sorrow.
The influencing come from a deeper whole, but manifest themselves in snippets. Micropoetry and microfiction are the perfect formats to capture those snippets. It does not need a plot, characterization and the interaction of those characters to weave a story.
The micro-formats capture a moment, and these moments constitute life. Tony Robbins puts it succinctly, when he says, “It is in the moments of decision, that destiny is shaped.”

Everything large is composed of small things–the world and ideas. Nice!

Oh yes.. the little things.. and everything in a drop of water. That’s how it’s best seen.

I agree that it comes from a deeper whole but the manifestation is in snippets. I also agree that our choices make our destiny.

I love the act of distillation in poetry too, Reena. It’s those moments, the “right now,” that add up to a lifetime. Your metaphor of micro-writing as droplets of water is perfect.

Thank you, Sarah! Capturing the universe will need an epic work. This is within our capacity 🙂

You’re haiku is perfect for expressing the idea that tiny little things make bigger whole, even when we only catch a glimpse of one or two. Beautiful, I can’t stop thinking about it!

I like the quote you included. Had not thought of poetry in terms of micro managing before.:-)
