Her voice trembled with indignation as she spat out the words, “Draupadi, the Princess of Panchal was gambled away in a game of dice, by her husband, Yudhishthir. The villains of the tale who proceed to strip her, are warned, rebuked and cursed, but not effectively stopped. What remains a mystery in the tale, is that why the otherwise strong Draupadi, trained in martial arts not retaliate with violence?”

“Stop telling stories and do what you are asked to do,” a cold voice dictated.

“The die has been cast aeons ago and the world awaits a logical end to the story, here, not on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.”

The chamber reverberated with the sound of gunshots, one for each century of humiliation.

  1. two words: ‘yow!’*

    * a compliment, if not somewhat smartassed delivery. I liked your Six for the ‘scope’, the size of the scene.
    This is something I’m struggling with my other (fiction) writing. I can show the world/a scene through the eyes of a single character, but that ends up being a smaller picture. There is something to invoking (and, perhaps by way of implying) a much bigger canvas.
    I get that from this Six, this week.
