Unease

After the accident, unease grew like a mold in the corners of his mind.

The spattering of blood, the sound of the ambulance horn, the Intensive Care Unit and the expressionless faces of the medical team …..  something inside told him that it was the end to all his problems, but he could not feel happy about it.

It was a few decades ago. He had inherited his father’s business and wealth, and led a luxurious life. He had a beautiful wife and two lovely children. He often looked at their innocent, smiling faces and thought,

“Will they have the patience to wait?”

He was the mastermind behind the accident, in which his father was killed…. decades ago.
