Soaring High

The kite

soared high in the sky

manoeuvred

by mentors

on grounds below

but mistook

the flight

as its own, and could

not resist

a vain smirk,

to land with a thud

on hard rocks.

What was wrong?

intoxication

unreal?

or being

unable to pay

back and win?

The stakes are

always high up there

play to lead.

Know the knots

that obstruct the string

and untie.

Test the skies

but develop power

from within.
