The mercury is gradually shooting up, and the Sun God is visible for a longer time. However, the chill continues in the morning and evening. We feel lighter and fresher, but it is not yet time to pack away the woollens.
One needs to plan outfits with care, to survive the fluctuating temperature with grace and elan. The clusters and combinations will change, not the basic elements in the wardrobe.
- Dress in Layers
One needs to dress in lighter layers, instead of a single heavy coat or sweater. The outermost layers can be shed, as the sun moves up, or you enter temperature-controlled environments. The co-ordination should be perfect, so that the outfit looks complete, even if a layer is shed.

2. No thermal wear and woollen socks
Shun these two items, as one cannot shed them easily, and keeps stewing in warmer zones. Women can manage well with sheer stockings or pantyhose.
3. Cotton Sweaters and Cotswool
There are trendy cotton sweaters, which can carry you through, without looking out-of-place. Elegant Cotswool shirts also do the trick.

4. Style a scarf
Style a warm scarf (maybe a semi-Pashmina), like a shrug. It looks stylish, keeps warm and can be easily removed and folded up to fit in a bag. You need not lug the extra garments around.

5. Long Scarf Coats
These look elegant and stylish, create a formal look, keep your hands free and provide just the right amount of warmth. Dupattas or shawls can also be used to style a scarf-coat. They go with almost any outfit – trousers, kurtas, skirts, dresses and saris.
Get creative ! There is quite a lot in your wardrobe, to be re-styled in a different manner.

6. Shrug it up
Shrugs can replace jackets and sweaters, and yet lend a semi-formal touch. Find the right ones, that are not too slouchy.

7. Sun Protection
Pull out the sunscreens and shades, in case you had given them a go-by. The UV rays can hit you through the clouds, or directly. Protection is non-negotiable.
Avoid the temptation to bask in the sun for long. It damages the skin. Expose yourself, just enough to get the required dose of Vitamin D.

8. Hair Care
You may increase the frequency of shampooing to look fresh. Use the right conditioners, serums and color protection sprays to prevent damage. Go in for a spa to refresh, and let the locks loose.

9. Pedi-care
A daily foot care regimen is imperative, now that the feet will be exposed more. The pedi-exfoliators introduced in the market are good to remove the dead skin from heels. Use a nail buffer before applying nail polish, or get a professional pedicure done.

Get ready to welcome the spring, with a spring in your footsteps ….
